SEC’s Ambitious Climate Reporting Goals Face Practical Hurdles

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposals will echo worldwide as other securities regulators feel bound to keep pace. The SEC rules will profoundly impact listed companies and their move towards sustainability, spreading out to the rest of the economy.
But there are concerns over whether companies can meet the SEC’s proposed climate reporting obligations.
